Hiking in Northern Norway

Day 1: Tromsø

We arrive in Tromsø, the largest city north of the Arctic Circle. Together with a local guide, we make a city tour and also visit the famous Arctic Cathedral. Then we take the Fjellheisen up to the top of Storsteinen and enjoy the fantastic view. Back on the bus, we continue out to the coast and arrive at Sommarøy and the Arctic Hotel, our home for the next three nights. After check-in, dinner is served.

Day 2: Hiking Brensholmen-Buvika

After breakfast, we meet our hiking guides with whom we will “go on tour” for about 4 hours. We take the bus to Brensholmen and then hike to Buvika. The route offers both wonderful nature and many beautiful places where we can eat our lunch. About halfway, the hike becomes a little more challenging and then there is the opportunity to turn around for those who wish. Back at the hotel, there is time to discover the surroundings on your own or use the sauna and hot tub. In the evening we gather in the hotel’s restaurant for dinner.

Day 3: Hiking Tåfjorden

We start this day with breakfast and then we go by boat to Tussøya. The day offers a nice hike along the Tåfjord and when we have had our fill of the beautiful views, it is time for the stomach to get its share. We return to the hotel where lunch awaits. The afternoon is spent according to your own liking and taste. For those who want to stretch their legs a little more, hiking maps are available at the reception. We end our last day on Sommarøy with a joint dinner.

Day 4: Departure

The day starts with breakfast and then it’s time to board the bus and head for home. We will never forget the chalky white coral beaches and clear emerald green waters.
