Lapland Delights

Day 1: Rovaniemi
Upon arrival in Rovaniemi (own arrangements), a transfer will be provided to the hotel. The first night in Lapland will be spent in the capital of the region, known as the official hometown of Santa Claus.

Day 2: Santa Claus – Äkäslompolo
Following breakfast, free time will be available to explore Rovaniemi independently. A visit to the Santa Claus Village, located at the Arctic Circle, is highly recommended. In the afternoon, the journey will continue to Äkäslompolo, a charming village near the Swedish border, where the next two nights will be spent.

Day 3: Äkäslompolo
After a hearty breakfast, the day may be spent at leisure. The surrounding area offers excellent opportunities for skiing, snowshoeing, and winter hiking. The nearby Ylläs Ski Centre is Finland’s largest ski resort, offering 63 slopes and over 330 km of cross-country trails for skiers of all levels.

Day 4: Äkäslompolo
Another full day is at disposal to enjoy optional activities such as a dog-sled tour, snowmobile safari, or a traditional reindeer ride through the serene forest landscapes. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing can also be experienced independently.

Day 5: Kiruna
After breakfast, the tour will proceed to Kiruna, Sweden’s northernmost town. Located in Swedish Lapland, Kiruna is known for its Sámi heritage and Arctic charm. A guided visit to the famous ICEHOTEL in nearby Jukkasjärvi is included. With favourable weather, the Northern Lights may be spotted in the evening sky.

Day 6: Harads – Luleå
The day begins with a drive southward to Harads. A regional lunch featuring traditional Nordic cuisine will be served in a cosy restaurant. In the afternoon, travel continues to Luleå, located on the Gulf of Bothnia, for an overnight stay.

Day 7: Snow Castle & Sampo Icebreaker
A morning excursion will lead to Kemi, just across the Finnish border. Here, the annually rebuilt SnowCastle will be visited. The itinerary also includes a 4-hour cruise aboard the Sampo Icebreaker, with a warm meal served on board. After free time in Kemi, the return to Rovaniemi will follow for the final night in Lapland.

Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, check-out from the hotel will take place. Depending on flight times, there may be additional time for last-minute souvenir shopping before the transfer to the airport is arranged.
