Day 1: Arrival in Harstad
Arrival in Harstad according to your own itinerary. Located on Hinnøya, Norway’s largest coastal island, Harstad offers scenic surroundings and a lively waterfront. Overnight stay in a centrally located hotel in Harstad.
Day 2: Harstad to Andenes
After breakfast, depart Harstad and drive towards the Vesterålen Islands. The route via Kvæfjord includes a scenic short ferry crossing from Refsnes to Flesnes (ferry not included), taking you through peaceful valleys and coastal villages. Optional whale watching in Andenes is available on request. Overnight stay in a hotel in the centre of Andenes.
Day 3: Andenes to Svolvær
Today, continue south to the Lofoten Islands, arriving in Svolvær — the cultural and commercial hub of the archipelago. En route, consider stopping in Stokmarknes to visit the Coastal Express Museum. Svolvær blends small-town charm, maritime life, and a vibrant arts scene. Overnight stay in a traditional rorbu cabin in Svolvær.
Day 4: Svolvær
Spend the day at leisure in and around Svolvær. Optional activities include a RIB tour through the dramatic Trollfjord (on request). Explore the harbour, galleries, and local cafés. Overnight stay in a traditional rorbu cabin in Svolvær.
Day 5: Svolvær to Reine
Continue your journey along the National Scenic Route south through Lofoten. A recommended stop is Nusfjord, one of Norway’s best-preserved fishing villages (entrance not included). End the day in Reine, often regarded as the most beautiful village in Lofoten. Overnight stay in a traditional rorbu cabin in Reine.
Day 6: Reine
Enjoy a full day at leisure. A visit to the village of Å is highly recommended. This open-air village museum showcases original boathouses, rorbu cabins, and the old bakery, all dating back over 150 years. Optional kayaking excursions in Reine can be arranged on request. Overnight stay in a traditional rorbu cabin in Reine.
Day 7: Reine to Henningsvær
Begin your return north to Henningsvær, known for its spectacular harbour setting and charming wooden architecture. Explore the shops, galleries, and the famously located football pitch. A visit to Galleri Lofoten Hus is also recommended. Overnight stay in a traditional rorbu cabin in Henningsvær.
Day 8: Henningsvær to Harstad
Drive back to Harstad, taking in your final views of the island landscapes. Enjoy your last evening in the far north. Overnight stay in a centrally located hotel in Harstad.
Day 9: Departure
Breakfast is served at the hotel. Departure according to your own itinerary.
Please Note: Rental car is not included. Prices available on request. Some rorbu cabins are self-catering and may not include breakfast.
