Alta is a town in northern Norway, located in Finnmark. Known as the "City of the Northern Lights," it is a prime location for viewing auroras during winter. The area is home to the UNESCO-listed Alta Rock Carvings, which date back thousands of years. Visitors can explore Sami culture, enjoy dog sledding, or visit the modern Northern Lights Cathedral. Alta also serves as a base for exploring nearby fjords and arctic landscapes.
Hunting the Northern Lights
Alta is an excellent destination for experiencing the Northern Lights. After pick-up, clients will enjoy a warm soup before heading out to areas with minimal light pollution in search of the lights. The driver and guide will select the best location, which may involve a drive of up to 200 km, through coastal areas, fjords, or inland Finnmark. Regular stops will be made to assess the conditions, and photos will be taken if possible. Guides, who are also photographers, can assist with camera settings. Snacks and hot chocolate will be served, and the tour is limited to small groups of up to 8 guests per guide.

Snowshoeing, Husky and Ice-Fishing with Lunch
The trek to the wilderness camp takes clients through peaceful pine forests to a lakeside location known for its abundant fish. Upon arrival, the fire will be lit inside the lavvu (Sami tent) for a cozy lunch. Arctic char is the main fish, and if caught, it will be served fresh; otherwise, other delicacies will be grilled. The area is home to wildlife such as hares, foxes, moose, and eagles. The easy trek takes less than 30 minutes, with equipment pulled by sled by one of the huskies—Javri, Phelps, Atlas, or Bruneo.

Upon return to the husky farm, clients can interact with the dogs before enjoying snacks and learning about life with huskies around the fire in the Lavvo.

Through snow-covered forests, clients will travel up to expansive mountain plains, surrounded by snow and sky in all directions. Snowmobiles are ridden in pairs, with the opportunity to switch between driver and passenger.
