Jostedalen

Jostedalen is a valley in western Norway, renowned as the gateway to Jostedalsbreen National Park, home to the largest glacier in mainland Europe, the Jostedalsbreen Glacier. The area offers a range of outdoor activities, including guided glacier hikes, kayaking, and scenic nature walks. Visitors can explore the Breheimsenteret visitor center to learn about the region's glacial history and geology. Jostedalen is a prime destination for experiencing Norway's dramatic landscapes, with its icy blue glaciers, waterfalls, and rugged terrain.

Short Blue Ice Hike

With the help of professional glacier guides, the right equipment, and expert guidance, exploring the Nigardsbreen Glacier is an unforgettable experience. Clients will be roped up and walk leisurely with crampons and ice axes, navigating deep blue crevasses and towering ice formations. There may even be opportunities to crawl through ice tunnels. Some sections of the route are steep but are made easier with steps in the ice. Participants should be reasonably sure-footed for this adventure.

Blue Ice Hike

Clients will explore the giant blue ice world of the Nigardsbreen Glacier near the Sognefjord with the help of our guide team and learn about the exciting nature of the Jostedalsbreen Glacier. This hike covers some of the most impressive areas of the blue ice landscape and is more demanding than the Short Blue Ice Hike. The route passes through challenging and steeper parts of the glacier, offering a stunning view of the snow-covered Jostedalsbreen and the upper part of Nigardsbreen. Clients will have the opportunity to use crampons and ice axes, visit ice caves, and observe towering ice formations and deep blue crevasses. This experience provides a deeper understanding of the glacier's power and leaves lasting memories.
