Northern Iceland
Northern Iceland is a region known for its striking landscapes, including volcanic terrain, geothermal areas, and picturesque fjords. One of the highlights of this region is Húsavík, a small town located on the Skjálfandi Bay, famous for its whale watching opportunities. Húsavík is considered one of the best places in the world to see whales, particularly during the summer months. Visitors can take boat tours to observe humpback whales, orcas, and other species in their natural habitat. In addition to whale watching, Northern Iceland offers activities like hiking and geothermal baths.

It’s in this area that the roots of the local culture lie, where ancestors once lived in peace and harmony with the untamed and unpredictable nature of the North Atlantic.

Big Whale Safari & Puffins – Husavik
Speedboats offer the ability to cover more area in search of the gentle giants. A RIB is faster than the wind, making it more likely to encounter the larger whales. While the bay is typically sufficient to spot a variety of whales, this tour focuses on finding the bigger ones, further offshore. Although nothing is guaranteed, this tour greatly increases the chances of encountering some of the world’s largest animals. The tour also includes a visit to Puffin Island, where clients can experience thousands of puffins, the 'Clowns of the Ocean,' during the nesting period (approximately April 15th – August 20th).
Availability: Daily, April – October
Duration: 2- 3 hours
Includes: Tour guide, RIB boat tour, warm safety overalls
