Travel Guide to Greenland
Greenland is a unique travel destination that offers an unforgettable experience for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. With its rugged terrain, stunning glaciers, and pristine wilderness, Greenland offers a rare opportunity to escape and immerse oneself in the beauty of nature. In this guide, we will provide you with useful information about how to get to Greenland, what to expect, local cuisine, and our brand new tours.
Getting to Greenland
Firstly, it’s important to remember that Greenland is a vast and remote destination, and visitors should be prepared for a long journey to reach their destination. The easiest way to reach Greenland is via Denmark, with flights departing from Copenhagen to Kangerlussuaq, the only airport in Greenland where larger planes can land. From there, visitors will need to take a smaller propeller plane to their final destination. Waiting times at the airport can be lengthy, so it’s worth considering booking an excursion or exploring the airport’s restaurant to make the most of the time.

Accommodation
In terms of accommodation, while the hotel standard in Greenland is good, visitors should not expect luxury accommodations. Visitors to Greenland come to experience its natural beauty and unique culture, and accommodations reflect this. However, visitors will find that the accommodations are comfortable and well-equipped, with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay.

Wind & Weather
Visitors to Greenland should also be prepared for the weather, which can be unpredictable and harsh. Programs and excursions may need to be adjusted or cancelled due to weather conditions, so visitors should be flexible and prepared to adapt to changing circumstances. It’s worth packing appropriate clothing for the weather, including waterproof and windproof outer layers, warm layers, and sturdy footwear. In the summer months, visitors can experience the midnight sun, where the sun doesn’t set for weeks at a time.

Jana in Greenland
Greenland is a rugged place where people live in harmony with nature. Be prepared for an adventure and to be amazed by the beauty of nature. Keep in mind that the climate can be harsh, and programs may change due to weather conditions.

One of the most recommended excursions in Greenland is a boat tour to the Icefjord and wilderness camp. Visitors can witness the stunning shades of blue and white of the icebergs and the turquoise water underneath. The tour includes a lunch break between the icebergs with some seafood finger food and a glass of wine. Upon arrival at the camp, visitors are welcomed by traditional performers and get to enjoy a delicious dinner before returning to Nuuk.
