During this program you will discover the charms of four stunning Nordic capitals, ride the famous Flåm Railway through beautiful mountains and sail along majestic fjords. It’s a perfect combination of city and nature.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Copenhagen
Arrival in Copenhagen and transfer from the airport to a centrally located hotel. Depending on arrival time, the travellers can explore the sights of the Danish capital.
Day 2: Copenhagen to Oslo
Copenhagen is charming city where a thousand years of history awaits in the medieval streets. On a city tour, the travellers get to know some of the most important sights of the city, such as the statue of the Little Mermaid, the Gefion Fountain, and the Royal Palace Amalienborg. In the afternoon, departure from Copenhagen on an overnight cruise to Oslo.
Day 3: Oslo
In the morning arrival in Oslo. The Norwegian capital is beautifully situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord and surrounded by forested ridges. Today the group explores the most well-known sights of the green city, such as the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Opera House and the Akershus Fortress, on a guided city tour.
Day 4: Oslo to Geilo
Today the journey continues towards the Norwegian fjord region. The travellers leave Oslo for a drive along Lake Tyri and through the beautiful Hallingdal Valley via Gol to the ski resort town of Geilo.
Day 5: Geilo to Bergen
Morning departure by train to Myrdal, where the travellers change to the famous Flåm Railway, that winds down from 900 metres asl along wild and beautiful mountain scenery with waterfalls and steep mountains to Flåm at the Sognefjord. There the group boards a 2-hour scenic fjord cruise on the Nærøyfjord to Gudvangen, from where they continue by bus to Bergen.
Day 6: Bergen
Today the travellers get to know Bergen and its most important sights on a guided tour. A highlight of the tour is the iconic harbour district “Bryggen”, with its typical houses and courtyards from the Hanseatic period.
Day 7: Bergen to Oslo
In the morning departure towards Oslo. The route passes by the waterfall Steindalfossen, where it is possible to walk behind the waterfall, continues along the picturesque Hardangerfjord to Eidfjord, where the road winds up through steep valleys to the Hardangervidda mountain plateau. Along the way, stop at impressive Vøringsfossen waterfall. The journey continues back over Geilo, for arrival in Oslo in the evening.
Day 8: Oslo to Stockholm
Today it is time to leave Norway and continue the journey by train to Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. On the way, travellers can enjoy the Swedish countryside passing by outside the train window.
Day 9: Stockholm
In Stockholm one is never far from water, as the city is built on 14 islands. Guided tour will take the group around the Swedish capital, to some of the best photo stops and most important sights, such as City Hall, and the well-preserved medieval Old Town with its cobbled streets. In the afternoon, departure from Stockholm on an overnight cruise to Helsinki.
Day 10: Helsinki
In the morning arrival in Helsinki. The capital of Finland is a vibrant seaside city with beautiful islands and green parks, where eastern and western culture meet. On a city tour, the travellers get to know some of the many attractions that city offers, among them the historical centre, Finlandia Hall and the Sibelius Monument.
Day 11: Departure from Helsinki
Today is the last day of this Nordic experience. A transfer will bring the group to the airport to start their homeward journey.
