Embraced by the foaming waves of the Norwegian Sea, Lofoten has a breathtakingly wild landscape, mighty mountains, deep fjords and picturesque fishing villages. Summer brings midnight sun and winter the colorful northern lights.

Itinerary

Day 1: Kiruna

The northern roads take us past Piteå, Luleå, Överkalix and Gällivare. In the afternoon we reach Jukkasjärvi where we recommend a visit to Icehotel 365. Here you can enjoy ice experiences all year round. Walls, ceilings and floors are covered with ice and snow, the interior is handmade and uniquely designed by artists from all over the world. It is then only a short distance to our hotel in Kiruna where we have dinner together.

Day 2: The Trollfjord

Today we drive along Torneträsk and over the Riksgränsen to Norway. The magnificent nature scenes follow each other along the way. In the afternoon we arrive in Svolvaer where we change from bus to boat. We travel through the fascinating Trollfjord where majestic mountains plunge straight into the fjord. Back in Svolvaer we go ashore and check in at our and check in at our hotel. A joint dinner awaits us in the hotel’s restaurant.

Day 3: Lofoten

Today we’re going to get around and experience the best of Lofoten. The varied landscape offers unforgettable nature experiences and the strong historical connection to the Viking Age comes to mind. Small picturesque fishing villages, long beaches, majestic mountains, museums and galleries guarantee an eventful day. In the evening, dinner is served at the hotel.

Day 4: Saltstraumen

After breakfast we leave Lofoten with the ferry from Svolvaer that takes us to Skutvik. We arrive in Bodö where we stop at the world’s strongest maelstrom, Saltstraumen. The water rushing at 20 knots forms eddies up to 10 meters in diameter and 5 meters deep. Overnight in Bodö where we have dinner together.

Day 5: Storuman

From Bodö we take the road past Svartisen National Park where, among other things, the largest glacier in northern Scandinavia is located. We then cross the border and return to Sweden. In Storuman we have dinner and stay for the night.

Day 6: Departure

We start the last day of the trip with breakfast. With both new experiences and newfound friends in our luggage, we sit back as we depart for our home town.
