Itinerary
23 December: Arrival in Rovaniemi
Upon arrival at Rovaniemi Airport, a transfer will take clients to the Lakituvat Cabins. These traditional log chalets are set in a quiet forest on top of Ounasvaara fell, just a short drive from the city centre. Each cabin offers space for up to six guests, with two bedrooms, loft bedding, a private sauna, fireplace, and full kitchen facilities. Reindeer sightings and Northern Lights displays are common in the area. A warm dinner is served this evening at the nearby restaurant.
24 December: Reindeer & Husky Safari with Festive Dinner
After breakfast, clients will set out on a family-friendly day full of Arctic experiences. The tour begins with a visit to a local reindeer farm, including a 30-minute sleigh ride and insight into Sámi traditions. Afterwards, guests will visit a husky kennel and enjoy an 800m sled ride, followed by free time to meet the huskies. A traditional Lappish lunch of salmon soup and warm berry juice is included. The day ends with some tobogganing fun before heading back to the cabin. A festive three-course dinner will be served in the evening at the resort’s restaurant.
25 December: Day at Leisure & Winter Activities
Breakfast is included and served nearby. The day is left open for clients to relax or customise with additional activities. Popular suggestions include snowmobiling, ice fishing, or alpine skiing at the nearby Ounasvaara ski resort – ideal for both beginners and experienced skiers. Dinner is included and served at the restaurant.
26 December: Santa Claus Village & Northern Lights Adventure
Following breakfast, a visit to Rovaniemi is recommended. The city offers shopping and museums such as Arktikum, which tells the story of life in the Arctic. In the afternoon, clients may choose to visit Santa Claus Village and Snowman World (optional). In the evening, a 3-hour snowmobile safari awaits. Riding through the snowy forests, clients will stop at a scenic spot to enjoy stories around a campfire with grilled sausages and warm drinks, while keeping an eye out for the Aurora Borealis. Dinner is included and served at the restaurant.
27 December: Departure
After breakfast, clients will be transferred to Rovaniemi Airport for their departure, carrying cherished memories of a white Christmas in Finnish Lapland.

Local tip
The Ounasvaara area is not only ideal for skiing – it’s also home to several scenic winter walking trails that start just outside the cabins. The silence of the snow-covered forest, combined with the chance to spot reindeer or even the Northern Lights above the treetops, is often one of the most cherished and unexpected highlights of the trip.
