Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Oslo

Flight to Oslo. Depending on arrival time, the travellers can spend some time to explore the sights of the Norwegian capital.

Day 2: Oslo

Oslo is beautifully situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord and surrounded by forested ridges. Today the group explores the most well-known sights of the green city, such as the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Opera House and the Akershus Fortress, on a guided city tour. Free time in the afternoon to explore more of what Oslo has to offer.

Day 3: Oslo to Vinstra

The journey to the fjords starts with a drive along Mjøsa Lake and Hamar to the Olympia town Lillehammer. There the travellers will visit the open-air museum Maihaugen, that has a collection of more than 185 historical buildings, including a stave church. Embedded in a beautiful park it showcases in a fascinating way how people in this part of Norway lived and worked in the past century. Afterwards the drive continues to Vinstra, where the travellers stay overnight.

Day 4: Vinstra to Geiranger

Today includes one of the highlights of the trip: a drive up Trollstigen, the most famous serpentine road in Norway. A breathtaking view into the valley is offered during a stop at the waterfall “Storfossen” and from the highest point of the Trollstigen. After crossing the mountain, a short ferry crossing takes the travellers to the village Geiranger, located on the fjord of the same name.

Day 5: Geiranger to Sogndal

The day starts with a ferry crossing along the length of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Geirangerfjord to Hellesylt. From there, continue along fjords and though scenic valleys towards Sogndal. Along the way, there is the possibility to make a detour to the Briksdal Glacier.

Day 6: Sogndal to Bergen

The journey continues by crossing the majestic Sognefjord. In Flåm, the group enjoy a ride on the Flåm Railway, one of the steepest adhesion railways in the world. The 20 km long train ride between Flåm and Myrdal passes through wild and beautiful mountain scenery with waterfalls and steep mountains, from the Sognefjord up to a height of 900 metres asl. Afterwards the journey continues past Voss to Bergen, where the travellers arrive in the evening.

Day 7: Bergen

Today the travellers get to know Bergen and its most important sights on a guided tour. A highlight of the tour is the iconic harbour district “Bryggen”, with its typical houses and courtyards from the Hanseatic period. Afterwards a short ride with the Fløibanen Funicular takes the travellers to the top of local Mount Fløyen, which offers unique and unforgettable views of the city. In the afternoon there is time to continue exploring the city individually.

Day 8: Departure from Bergen

A transfer takes the group to Bergen Airport, from where they catch the flight home.
