Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Oslo
Arrival in Oslo according to individual travel plans. Norway’s capital city lies at the head of the Oslofjord and is surrounded by forested hills. Its history stretches back to the Middle Ages, and today, it is a modern city with vibrant culture and a green soul.
Day 2: Oslo – Trondheim
Breakfast at the hotel. Board the train for a scenic full-day journey north to Trondheim, travelling through the beautiful Gudbrandsdalen Valley and across the Dovrefjell mountain plateau.
Day 3: Hurtigruten – Trondheim to Bergen
Breakfast at the hotel. Make your way to the Hurtigruten terminal for a coastal cruise described as one of the most beautiful sea voyages in the world. Sail past Kristiansund, the capital of dried cod, and continue along Norway’s rugged coastline. Optional excursions include a visit to the Atlantic Road or Bergtatt marble mine (not included).
Day 4: Arrival in Bergen
Enjoy breakfast on board. Continue sailing past scenic islands and fjord mouths before disembarking in Bergen at approximately 14:30. Bergen is known as the gateway to the fjords and is surrounded by seven mountains and seven fjords.
Day 5: Hardangerfjord Excursion
Breakfast at the hotel. Today’s full-day excursion takes you by bus, boat, and train to explore the dramatic beauty of the Hardangerfjord – known for its waterfalls, apple orchards, and majestic scenery. Return to Bergen in the evening.
Day 6: Bergen – Flåm – Geilo
Breakfast at the hotel. Travel by boat from Bergen to Flåm, a fjord-side village surrounded by steep mountains. Board the Flåm Railway, one of the world’s most scenic train rides, to Myrdal, then continue on the Bergen Railway to Geilo.
Day 7: Geilo – Oslo
Breakfast at the hotel. Return by train to Oslo, passing through alpine landscapes and deep valleys. An optional guided city tour of Oslo can be arranged.
Day 8: Departure from Oslo
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure according to individual travel plans.
