Norwegians are said to be born with skis on their feet, and as soon as the first snowflakes fall, they head straight for the slopes. This tour will invite your clients to discover their inner Norwegian by exploring the ski slopes of Geilo, a charming mountain village known for its welcoming atmosphere and fantastic winter activities. The tour finishes with the classic Norway in a Nutshell experience.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Oslo
Travellers will arrive in Oslo according to their own itinerary and enjoy a winter day in the Norwegian capital. They can wander through the bustling streets or visit one of the many fascinating museums.
Day 2: Oslo
The day will be at leisure, allowing travellers to explore Oslo further. A recommended activity is taking the metro to Oslomarka, the wooded and hilly areas surrounding the city, where they can ski, ice skate, or explore the snowy forest on foot.
Day 3: Oslo - Geilo
Travellers will leave city life behind and board a train towards the Hardangervidda mountain plateau and the village of Geilo. After arriving, they will make their way to their cosy self-catering cabin for the next few nights. A visit to the village centre for groceries is recommended, with a local taxi available for transport.
Day 4-5: Geilo
The following two days will be at leisure to explore the slopes of Geilo Ski Resort. With 45 slopes to choose from, both beginners and advanced skiers will find plenty of opportunities. Ski rental, passes, and lessons can be arranged upon request.
Day 6: Norway in a Nutshell
Today, travellers will experience the stunning fjord scenery of Norway. They will travel by train to Myrdal, then board the Flåm Railway, taking them through breathtaking landscapes to the Sognefjord. From here, they will travel by electric boat to Gudvangen and take a shuttle bus to Voss, before completing the journey by train to Bergen, Norway’s second largest city.
Day 7: Departure
Travellers will have the morning at leisure before departing Bergen according to their own schedule.
