On this tour, a winter adventure through the dramatic landscapes of Northern Norway will be experienced. The itinerary includes time in the Arctic city of Tromsø and the idyllic island of Sommarøy, where snow-covered scenery and chances to witness the magical Northern Lights await.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Tromsø
Arrival in Tromsø will take place according to own arrangements. Upon arrival, a private transfer will be provided to the hotel in the city centre. Overnight in Tromsø.
Day 2: Tromsø – City Sightseeing
After breakfast, a guided city tour will be conducted, offering insight into Tromsø’s rich history and Arctic heritage. A visit to the striking Arctic Cathedral will be included, followed by a scenic ascent via the Fjellheisen cable car to the summit of Mount Storsteinen, from where panoramic winter views over the city and fjords can be enjoyed. Overnight in Tromsø.
Day 3: Reindeer Feeding & Sámi Culture
A guided visit to a traditional Sámi camp will be arranged. Clients will take part in a reindeer feeding session amidst serene winter landscapes. Afterwards, a warm traditional meal will be served in a cosy Gamme hut. While gathered around the fire, stories from Sámi culture will be shared and traditional joik (song) will be performed. Overnight in Tromsø.
Day 4: Dog Sledding & Transfer to Sommarøy
Today a dog-sledding excursion will take place, during which clients will ride in a sled pulled by Alaskan huskies through snow-covered terrain, guided by professional mushers. Following the sled tour, there will be time to visit the dog yard, meet the huskies, and enjoy a hot lunch by an open fire. In the afternoon, a scenic transfer to the island of Sommarøy will be arranged. The island's remote location offers excellent conditions for spotting the Northern Lights. Overnight in Sommarøy.
Day 5: Snowshoe Hike
After breakfast, a guided snowshoe hike will be conducted on a nearby mountain, offering stunning views of fjords and coastal islands bathed in the Arctic light. At the end of the excursion, clients will warm up with a hot drink and a traditional cinnamon bun. In the afternoon, optional use of the sauna or jacuzzi may be booked. A Northern Lights chase may be added in the evening for those wishing to maximise their aurora viewing chances. Overnight in Sommarøy.
Day 6: Departure
Following breakfast, a transfer will be provided to the airport for the return journey.
