On this Northern Norway adventure, travellers begin in vibrant Tromsø, the capital of the North. They’ll chase the Northern Lights with a local guide, hoping to see the Aurora dance overhead. Next, they journey to a wilderness camp in the Lyngen Alps, exploring Arctic landscapes by dog sled and snowmobile. The tour can either finish in Sommarøy or in Malangen.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Tromsø
Travellers will arrive at Tromsø Airport and take the included Airport bus to Tromsø. After checking in to their hotel, they can enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2: Aurora Safari
After breakfast, travellers will have the day at leisure. In the evening, they will embark on a spectacular Northern Lights Chase. A bus will take them on a hunt for the magical aurora borealis, with the guide sharing scientific insights and folklore about this natural phenomenon. They will return to their hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Wilderness Experience
After a morning at leisure, travellers will venture into the wilderness in the afternoon. A thrilling snowmobile excursion (or an optional reindeer safari or Northern Lights hunt) will take them through dramatic landscapes, with the opportunity to see the Northern Lights. The evening will be spent in the Aurora Chalet at Wilderness Camp Tamok.
Day 4: Husky Safari
The day will begin with a husky safari through the snow-covered mountains, where travellers will mush their own team of dogs (or choose a snowmobile or reindeer safari if preferred). Following the excursion, they will return to Tromsø and transfer by shuttle to Sommarøy Arctic Hotel or Malangen Resort for the night.
Day 5: Discover the Nature
The day will be at leisure, allowing travellers to explore the surrounding nature. They may spot wildlife, such as sea eagles, or choose to add activities like snowshoeing or skiing. The night will be spent at Sommarøy Arctic Hotel or Malangen Resort.
Day 6: Departure
After breakfast, travellers will transfer from Sommarøy or Malangen back to Tromsø Airport for their departure.

Local tip
On a bad weather day in Tromsø, we recommend a visit to the local pool, Tromsøbadet. It can be reached by public bus from the centre and you can soak in the many hot tubs and enjoy stunning views from the comfortably warm outdoor pool.
